Meet Our Instructors:

The Senior Instructor, Terry Bower, started his martial arts career in 1983 at his school Judo club. Like most young boys he developed a healthy appetite for martial arts and after several years of Judo Terry's interests were captured by the local Kung Fu / Chinese Boxing class (1990). With the introduction of leg techniques and more movie style fighting, Terry continued to train Kung Fu / Chinese Boxing until 1994 at which time he had been awarded his 2nd Brown Belt. Now with over 10 years of experience, Terry was looking for something a little more hands on, more contact. In 1995 Terry joined a small club with a big difference. "The Way" was a system developed by an ex karate Instructor implementing both full contact karate with practical street self defence techniques taught by today's police force. Sparing became an every day occurrence, with the now introduction of Thai boxing techniques, such as elbows and knees. Truly a style ahead of its time.

In 1997 (Terry now assisting coaching) "The Way" was disbanded and Both Terry and his Instructor went on to teach PKA American Kickboxing. 1998 Terry was awarded the coveted title of Black Belt 1st Dan (Kickboxing) and through continual hard work and training Terry worked his way up the ranks gaining 2nd Dan status in 2000.
In 2001 he was given the challenge of running the PKAs London region and in 2003 achieved his 3rd Dan Black Belt in Kickboxing. Now overseeing some 20 odd clubs in the London region. In April 2004 Terry was awarded 4th Dan Black Belt for service within the PKA.

Over Terry's years in Martial Arts he has appeared in several issues of Combat magazine, passing on his teaching tips and techniques.

In January 2005, Terry formed fighting edge Martial arts and continues to train not only Kickboxing but also is Intergrated arts, Filipino MA, Thai Boxing, MMA and Ju-Jitsu.
